Cheryl McFarland and Liz Marquez sort through food donated by various people and organizations in the East Carbon-Sunnyside area to be used for the needy. Each year East Carbon City donates $2,500 and Sunnyside City puts in $600 to help people in the community. This year a number of private donations rolled in including two pickup truck loads of food from Petersen Elementary. The object of the program is to assure that disadvantaged people get help during the holidays. Donations are not limited to food. Items ranging from clothes to toys are also brought in.
