The Lady Dinos begin the final region game of the season with their customary cheer and roll. The pregame routine seemed to carry over into the match, as the Lady Dinos leveled the Lady Pioneers in three.

The Carbon Lady Dinos finished the Region 8 season with a routine sweep of the Lehi Lady Pioneers.

No team, whether at home or on the road, stood a chance against the overpowering Carbon squad this year.

In fact, prior to the game, it was announced that Carbon High had already locked the Region 8 title.

As is the custom with every final home game of an athletic season, Carbon also recognized the outstanding efforts of its senior players.

Four out of the five seniors received all-region academic honors and all five were essential in guiding Carbon to its overwhelming 25-10, 25-10, 25-22 final home win.

Seniors Maquette Potts, Halee Rasmussen, Monica Shorts, Morgan Warburton and Courtney Young will lead the team in their final state tournament of their high school careers.

Only two teams in the 3A volleyball classification will enter the state tournament undefeated. The Lady Dinos' 15-0 record trails only Morgan High's 17-0 record.

The state tournament, which will take place Oct. 29 and 30 at Utah Valley State College in Orem, will likely see the two teams colliding.

Carbon is set to face the number four seed from Region 9, which is likely to be Canyon View.
