Helper Legion beats West

Helper's American Legion team defeated West on the road 11-5.

Chandler Pearson recorded the win, his second of the year.

The pitcher also added to the day offensively, with two doubles and a single.

Teammates Chris Hatch and Troy Grundy also had big hitting performances.

Hatch went 3 for 3 against the Salt Lake team, while Grundy had a single, a double and a grand slam home run in the seventh.

Helper finished the day with 14 hits. The team will host Highland on Friday at Gardner Field. Game time is 6 p.m.
