Flames shoot toward the sky as a fire rages in Carbonville last Saturday at approximately 3 p.m. The fire raged along a canal bank and across a dry alfalfa field, causing a lot of smoke and concern to local residents. The Price Fire department responded with five units to battle the blaze. A strong wind reportedly turned a controlled burn into flames jumping as high as 15 feet. Officials caution Carbon County residents who intend to conduct controlled burns to check the weather and be sure that the forecast as well as conditions are proper for fires.
