Construction workers place a piece of pipe in line so a boring machine can drive its bit through the ground at a site in Carbonville. The water line shaft is being installed under the Union Pacific tracks so that there will be three lines feeding the area served. When crews complete the bore, the pipe will be fitted through the casing and attached to the present water delivery system on the other side of Carbonville Road.
