Local gymnasts qualify for state tournament

Local gymnasts recently competed in Delta in a preliminary meet which determines which gymnasts will compete in their age division at the state championships to be held later in the year. All the competitors that placed in the top 10 are now qualified to compete in the state competition.

•Power tumbling. Tied for first place were Brett Oliver, Canessa Montoya, Amber Fralick, and Jessica Moody. Nicky Woodbury placed fourth, while Nikki Sillitoe finished in seventh place.

•Double mini tramp. Canessa Montoya and Nicky Woodbury tied for first place. Second place finishers included Brett Oliver, Amber Fralick, Nikki Sillitoe, and Ben Moody. Fifth place finisher was Jessica Moody.

•Trampoline. Brett Oliver, Canessa Montoya, Amber Fralick, Nicky Woodbury, and Ben Moody all tied for first place, while Nikki Sillitoe finished in second place.

Along with winners in the listed categories, Takayl Lambson, Lillian Rowley, and Chelsea Wiggains also qualified for the state competition. The state championship will be held in Spanish Fork in April.
