Pollastro named Academic All-State for girls basketball

Carbon senior Brittany Pollastro was recently named to the Deseret Morning News girls basketball academic all-state team for the 2004 season. Pollastro's leadership inside guided Carbon to a third place finish at the 3A state tournament. She was also named to the 3A volleyball academic all-state team for maintaining a 3.988 GPA while participating in athletics. Pollastro is currently playing first base for the Lady Dino softball team and is also throwing shot put, javelin and discus for the Carbon High track team. In the fall, she will attend Snow College on a volleyball scholarship. Her parents are Carl and Vicki Pollastro.
