Residents routinely assist with chores at the Golden Rule Mission, located on Main Street in Helper.

The assistance frequently includes organizing and cleaning up the store operated at the local homeless shelter.

Four Price residents are the newest volunteers placed at the homeless shelter through Ameri-corps, a nation service organization dedicated to helping fight poverty.

Bob Tanner, Kathy Wright, Tracy Gross and Ty Madrigal were recently assigned to the Golden Rule Mission.

The four volunteers provide a variety of services at the homeless shelter, ranging from clerical and case management work, to operations and maintenance.

Along with the food, clothing and other donation needs, the group is also seeking a dentist practicing in the local area to help in emergency situations at the shelter.

To donate items or to volunteer time, assistance or services, Castle Valley residents may contact the Golden Rule Mission at 472-2631.
