Junior Lisa Ulugia calls for the ball in the junior varsity game against the Lehi Pioneers on Friday night. It was the last regular season game for both teams. The varsity squad will host Bear River on Feb. 20 for the state playoffs.

Carbon senior Brittany Pollastro left her last regular season game on a very high note.

Pollastro, who is currently fielding college offers for her volleyball abilities, showed that basketball skills are on her resume as well; she scored a season high 20 of Carbon's 47 points and brought down 12 rebounds in the Dinos' last minute victory over the Lehi Pioneers.

The final score was 47-46.

It was the first region loss of the season for Lehi, dropping the team to 7-1 in region eight play and 17-3 overall.

"It was awesome. We all came together and worked hard," she commented. "We showed the state what was going on."

Junior Morgan Warburton added 10 points, including two free throws in the final seconds to elevate the team to a win.

Carbon finishes the regular, region eight season in second place at 6-2 and 15-5 overall.

The first round of the state playoffs begin this weekend.

Carbon will host the region 11 Bear River Bears.

Game time is 7 p.m.

A win would advance the Lady Dinos into the state tournament, which will take place at Southern Utah University in Cedar City on Feb. 26, 27 and 28.
