The last of the flu vaccine sits inside a refrigerator at the main office of the Southeastern Utah Health District in downtown Price. The only local residents who will be receiving the remaining vaccine are children younger than the age of 9 who need the second set of shots. Joyce Pierce of the SUHD said that, while approximately 6,500 vaccinations were ordered for the season, the current year's flu scare prompted a large number of residents to get the shots. Fortunately, the demand has gone down with the supply. Pierce said residents may plan on flu vaccination clinics being conducted at the public health department office around Oct. 15 every year in the future.
