Elzar McKendrick

OREM - Elzar Lottie Wycherley McKendrick, 86, of Orem, died Nov. 25, 2003.

Elzar was born April 5, 1917 in Hiawatha, to Samuel and Maria McGonigle Wycherley. She married John Leonard McKendrick in July 1950 in Carbonville.

Elzar was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings, including Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout leader and Primary teacher. She loved genealogy.

She was a talented seamstress. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother of five children. She had many foster children in her home and provided a nurturing spirit and enjoyed helping and being involved in the lives of her family members.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; five children, Leon (Jeanie) Mc-Kendrick of Boston, Mass.; Patrick (Vanessa) McKendrick of San Antonio, Texas; Paul McKendrick of Las Vegas, Nev.; Larry (Fawn) McKendrick of West Valley City, Mrs. John (Cathy) Brown of Copper Hill, Tenn; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also special nieces and nephews: Vicki (Fred) Booth; Sam (Jayleen) Wycherley; and Ed (Lynda) Wycherley. She was preceded in death by son, John; and her brothers: Sam, Robert, Elmer, Elvar, and Edwin.

A graveside service took place on November 28, at Spanish Fork Cemetery under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary.


Brad Brinkeroff

PRICE - Brad Lee Brinkerhoff, 43, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend died peacefully Nov. 25, 2003 at home after a courageous battle fighting until the end against Lou Gehrigs disease.

Born June 11, 1960 to Dan and Luree Brinkerhoff. Married Lori Diane Matthews June 19, 1981.

Graduated from Millard High School, where he was a member of the 1978 state basketball championship team.

An avid sportsman, he loved watching and coaching his kids in sports. He also enjoyed training and racing his thoroughbred horses.

He owned and operated his own insulating business, Thermal Tec for 17 years. Brad was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. We will all miss his sense of humor, that great laugh and smile.

He is survived by wife, Lori; three children, sons, Beau and Jake; and daughter, Lacey, all of Price; father Dan; brothers, Jer'e Dan, Gene (Realaine), Val (Kelly), Fillmore; Todd (Renee), St. George; Joe (Trisha) Spanish Fork; nephews, nieces and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by mother, Luree Brinkerhoff; grandparents and a niece.

Friends may call for a visitation at the Westwood LDS Chapel at 173 N. 1280 West, Price on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. A visitation was held Nov. 29. at the Fillmore 3rd LDS Stake Chapel. Interment, Fillmore City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.


Mary Brown

PRICE - Mary Frances Brown, age 86, passed away Nov. 27, 2003 in a Price hospital.

She was born May 18, 1917 in David, Okla., to Daniel and Bessie Anthony Wickoff. Married Richard "Dick" Brown, Sept. 14, 1940 in Gallup, N.M. He died April 9, 2001.

Member of Price United Methodist Church.

Resident of Carbon County since 1944. Member of PEO Sisterhood, where she was past president.

Frances will be dearly missed by family and a community of longtime friends.

Survived by daughter, Edith (Terry) Simmonds; grandson, Jordan Simmonds, all of Lewiston; Samuel (Barbara) Wickoff, Grand Junction, Colo.; and sister, Barbara Taylor, Lubbock, Texas. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Wilford and Gene Wickoff.

Funeral service was Nov. 29 at the Price United Methodist Church. Interment, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.



Albert Medrano

SALT LAKE CITY - Albert Medrano, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away Nov. 29, 2003 at home.

Born Feb. 28, 1918 in Cold Creek, Colo., to Estaphan and Flora Medrano. Married Susie Romero Sept. 27, 1940. She died in 1992.

Retired from Kennecott Copper after 36 years. Worked a number of years for Colonial Mortuary.

Survived by two daughters, Flora Karcich, Carbonville; Cory M. Heller, Salt Lake City; three grandsons, David and Michael Walters, both of Salt Lake City; Alfred (Rachel) Ward, Midvale; three great-grandsons, Manual Avalos Ward, Jesse Avalos Ward, and Isaiah Avalos Ward; sister, Phyliss Borrago, Cheyenne, Wyo.; brother, David Medrano of West Hills, Calif.; nieces and nephews in Carbon County; and in California; also his dearest boogie friend, Lope Romero; and beloved cat, Koo.

Graveside services will be Dec. 4 at noon at the Wellington City Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City
