Thelma Nielson

SPRING GLEN - Thelma Lee Morrison Hamelwright Nielson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 in Clearfield.

Thelma was born May 29, 1925 in Wiggins, Miss., to Lee and Rosie Irene Redmond Morrison. She was raised in Wiggins, Price and Kenilworth. Married John James Nielson Sept. 30, 1944 in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.

Thelma graduated from Carbon High School. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in the Primary, young women's and Relief Society organizations.

Thelma loved and surrounded herself with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Thelma is survived by children, Barbara (Clyde) Worthen, Albuquerque, N.M.; Linda Niel-son Prettyman, Palm Desert, Calif.; Carole (Gardell) Grundvig, Syracuse; John (Lucinda) Nielson, Vernal; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, John James Nielson; son, Richard; grandson, Andrew; and one brother.

Funeral service Saturday, Nov. 29, 2 p.m. at the Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will be at Mitchell's Friday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.


Julie Warren

EAST CARBON - Julia Ster-lekar Warren, age 83, passed away Nov. 24, 2003 in Price.

She was born Aug. 20, 1920 in Walsenburg, Colo., to Anton and Anna Gorsic Sterlekar. Married Gran W. Warren Nov. 27, 1936 in Helper. He died Sept. 21, 1991.

She was honored as woman of the year by Good Shepherd Catholic Church for her years of dedicated service. She was also a choir member, member of the ladies auxiliary and accounts manager.

Member of SNPJ Lodge 757, Slovenian Home of Spring Glen and Price Ladies of Elks. She enjoyed bowling for 30 years and received numerous awards and positions. She worked as a dietician for Kaiser Hospital.

Survived by son, Robert Warren, East Carbon; daughter, Marilyn (Fred) Losee, West Valley City; grandsons, Robert Losee, Chubbuck, Idaho; Scot Losee and Karl Losee, Salt Lake City; great-grandchildren, Cath-erine Jennie Losee, Matthew Losee, Thomas Losee, Chub-buck, Idaho; Alisha Losee, Salt Lake City; sister, Sophie Sunter, East Carbon; nieces and nephews, Loretta Tucker, Boulder, Colo.; Barbara Hyatt, Reno, Nev.; Elsie Anderson, Mesquite, Nev.; Rudy Vuksinik, Orem; sister-in-law, Olga Stelekar, and niece, DeeAnn, California; and special friend, Sonny Fratto. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Annie; and brother, Albert.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Funeral Mass Saturday, Nov. 29, 10 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Vigil service Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at the church in East Carbon. Committal service, Price City Cemetery, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 103 N. 300 East, East Carbon, UT 84520.
