Players Jennifer Maestas and Samantha Madrid await a free ball.

The Lady Vikings were eliminated from the region tournament in two matches on Oct. 24.

Coach Alisa Preston said the team played better than they have played all season, despite their quick exodus from the tournament.

"I was proud of the way they played," she commented. "They really made a good showing.

East Carbon has struggled this season, winning only one match.

In the tournament, the Vikings faced Wasatch Academy and Wendover. Both matches went into a fifth game.

Preston attributes the team's strong showing to the outstanding play of senior Bethany Hansen and sophomore Skye Preston.

Amanda Hepworth and Samantha Madrid, who have lead the team this season with their consistent play, also played well for the team, Preston said.
