Carbon golf prepares for state tournament

Carbon High golfers visited The Ranches golf course for a region match hosted by Lehi on Sept. 25.

The team finished in third place overall will a team total of 351. Delta lead the teams with a 304. Lehi finished with a total of 342.

Emery finished fourth with a team score of 358 and North Sanpete trailed with a 391.

Mike Smith lead the Dino team with an 86. Other golfers contributing to the team score were Mark Rasmussen (87), Trent Jensen (89) and Cameron Oliver (89).

Mike Zaccaria finished close behind the contributing scorers, shooting a 90 for the day. Other varsity golfers included Kent Hartley (92), Cody Anderson (92), Tyler Nelson (94), Chase Julian (89) and Hunter King (97).

Carbon is currently in third place for the region.

The team's final region match will be today at Payson's home course, Gladstan.

The state tournament will take place Oct. 8-9 at Eagle Mountain in Brigham City.
