Sports Reporter

Carbon High football head coach Jeff Jorgensen has announced his decision to resign at the completion of the 2003 season.

Jorgensen, who has been involved with Dino football for several years, said the time commitment of the football season keeps him from watching his own sons compete.

Jorgensen has two sons, J.D. and Jan. J.D., a junior, is currently playing for the University of Utah at tight end.

Jan recently left for an LDS mission in Boise, Idaho. Jan signed with University of Kentucky prior to his mission and will play under former U of U coach Ron McBride when he returns.

Jorgensen estimates that his resignation will allow him enough time to travel and participate more in his oldest son's senior season.

Jan will return in 2005 and should be ready for the fall season. Coach Jorgensen said he will be attending as many of his games as possible.
