Carbon golf remains third in region standings

Carbon golfers burrowed themselves into a third-place spot in the region during two matches at Delta and North Sanpete.

On Aug. 28, Carbon travelled to Delta for a region tournament hosted by the Rabbits.

Carbon's team score was 350. Delta and Lehi finished ahead of the Dinos, shooting 314 and 342 respectively. Emery finished with a 364 and North Sanpete with a 407.

Mike Smith led the team scores, shooting an 81. Trent Jensen had an 88 for the day, Tyler Nelson finished with a 90 and Mike Zaccaria and Hunter King both wound up with a 91.

Other Varsity golfers were Kent Hartley (93), Mark Rasmussen (95), and Cody Anderson (95).

Carbon also finished in third place at last Thursday's North Sanpete tournament.

Team scores for the day were: Delta, 309; Lehi, 327; Carbon, 342; Emery, 342; North Sanpete, 368. Smith led again with an 82.

Other contributers to the team score were Jensen (86), Rasmussen (87), Zaccaria (87) and Oliver (87).

Other Varsity golfers were King (91), Anderson (93), and Nelson (93).

Carbon's next match is hosted by Emery on Thursday.
