WEST VALLEY CITY - Our beloved son and brother, Derek William Turner passed away tragically Aug. 25, 2003 in West Valley City.
He was born Dec. 5, 1990 in Salt Lake City, to Jason Joseph and Lisa Marie Gonzales Turner.
Derek attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna.
He loved hunting, camping, fishing, Playstation, rock-n-roll music, going to movies, the Dallas Cowboys, and had the funniest sense of humor.
He was very gentle and compassionate, and words cannot described the closeness of his and his sister's relationship.
Survived by parents, Jason and Lisa; sister, Mackenzie; grandparents, Tony and Mary Gonzales and Josie Turner; great-grandparents, Mary Palacios and Manuelita Velasquez; aunts, Emily (James) Robertson, Lisa (Randy) Carbine, Anna Turner, and Annette Lake; uncles, Ronnie (Jolene) Gonzales and Nick Pantelakis; cousins, Megan, Adrian, Kiersten, Abby, Evan, Katie, Justeen, Teya, Emilio, and Tyson; and best bud, Dillion Damron. Preceded in death by grandpa, William C. Turner; great-grandpa, Joseph Palacios; and great uncle, Ben Velasquez Jr.

Funeral Mass was Friday, Aug. 29, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.. A prayer service was Thursday. Committal, Pleasant Green Cemetery under the direction of Peel Funeral Home, Magna.
She was born April 15, 1912 in Grayson (Blanding), to Parley and Ruth Hurst Redd. She married Wilford Mark Humphrey in the Manti LDS Temple June 20, 1945. He passed away Dec. 30, 1991.
Merene enjoyed netting, visiting with people, teaching students homemaking skills and canning. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had many positions. She was involved in various positions in the American Legion Auxiliary, Clique Club, and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her children, Lorraine (Jay) Frandsen of Castle Dale, Jewelle Roberts of Salt Lake, Kristine (Dwayne) Story, Jay Mark (Joy Lynn) Humphrey, both of Orangeville; 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Jacqueline Wilson of Salt Lake; two brothers, Dale (Maurine) Redd of Ogden, and Kent Redd of Blanding. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, infant son, three brothers and one sister.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Sept. 6, 1 p.m., at the Orangeville LDS Ward Chapel with a viewing at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Orangeville Cemetery.
EMERY - Florence Johannah Abelin Anderson, age 94, returned to her Heavenly Father Aug. 31, 2003 in Ferron.
She was born April 19, 1909 in Emery to Arthur Magnus and Mary Sophia Neilson Abelin. She married Clinton C. Anderson Jan. 26, 1927 in the Manti LDS Temple and were together for 62 wonderful years until his passing.
She was a faithful member of the LDS Church where she served in numerous callings. She loved the Lord and she loved her family. She loved the outdoors, working in her yard and camping with her family.
Florence is survived by two sons, Preston C. Anderson of Emery; and Maurice and Christina Anderson of Carbondale, Colo.; daughter, Rene' and Arthur "Leif" Erickson of Emery; sister, Doraleen Gates of Salina; 39 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by husband; two sons, Bruce and Keith; one grandson, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 4, 1 p.m., in the Emery LDS Chapel. Friends may call Wednesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church in Emery. Burial will be in the Emery Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
