Day tripping through Price

A day trip for locals is definitely spending time enjoying the city of Price. I would suggest spending a majority of the day at the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric museum. In addition to the museum one could spend a nice relaxing lunch at one of the city's fine parks or restaurants. Then a walk through downtown, the Peace Gardens and spend a fun afternoon at the Wave Pool.

What can I see and do?

Full-sized skeletons of dinosaurs and a magnificent Colombian mammoth greet people entering into the curated facility.

In addition, visitors will learn about the discovery of the Utah raptor featured in the popular movie, Jurasic Park.

The museum in Price also houses excellent artifacts from the Fremont Indian culture along with dioramas and displays depicting village life and settlement patterns of the Native Americans in the Castle Valley region.

Through Sept. 30, the prehistoric museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. From Oct. 1 until March 31, the facility's hours change to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Tours may be scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tours may be slated Fridays by appointment only. The facility is closed on Sunday and major holidays.

How do I get there?

Located in downtown Price, the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum enables visitors to journey back in time to the era of the dinosaurs.

What is the driving time?

Price is a small town so driving from the museum to the wave pool and around to the various parks should only take a few minutes.
