Carbon Medical Service, which opened in East Carbon in 1952, has recently purchased the Helper Clinic. These clinics are a non-profit organization that provides medical services to the uninsured.

The clinics, which will not turn away any patients, operate on a sliding scale, meaning that the patients' fees are determined relative to their income.

The East Carbon facility provides jobs for 17 employees. The Helper Clinic will maintain the same staff as before.

For more information, please call East Carbon at 888-4411 or Helper at 472-7000.
