Editor,

After reading Mel Coonrod's letter in the August 19, 2014 edition of the Sun Advocate, I felt like I would like to respond. I agree that education is important. It is very important but I feel like there is something even more important, necessary and needed in those that we elect to be our leaders. That is integrity and honesty.

When President Ronald Reagan ran for President, I wondered whether he would be a good President, since he was a movie star instead of a doctor or lawyer etc. In my opinion President Reagan turned out to be the best President since Abraham Lincoln. They were both honest and had integrity and loved their country and their God more than self. And no matter what anyone thinks about either one of them they have gone down in history as two of the greatest Presidents America has ever had.

I understand the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a "Meet the Candidates" night on Oct. 6. I for one really appreciate the Chamber for doing this and hope that they will have it in a large building that has the capacity to seat many people and that every seat is filled and even standing room is occupied. Oct. 6"' is not a convenient night for me but I will be there.
