Lady Dinos start new season on high note
Shootout win over Union gives CHS boost
Playing through gloomy weather with rainfall, heavy at times, and thunder and lightning in the distance, the Carbon High Girl's Soccer team found plenty of hope for the season.
Carbon and Union played into a shootout with the Lady Dinos outscoring their opponent 3-1 to pick up the opening season win on Thursday afternoon at the Carbon High Soccer Field.
"We're very happy with the result," said coach Tracy Brady. "Our team played together and we did a lot of things well to get the win."
Brady credited a strong midfield and defense along with tough goalkeeping from senior Jaylie Jensen that kept Union scoreless.
The Lady Dinos will host South Summit on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the Carbon High Soccer Field.
