Donated dinner for flood volunteers

Volunteers worked hard cleaning up flood damage in Helper and Spring Glen last week, but they did not go hungry. Local restaurants and grocery stores donated food to be distributed under American Red Cross canopies. A list of donors and others who joined the recovery efforts has been compiled by Helper resident Jessica Andreason. Her letter is in the Opinion section of today's paper. Meanwhile, the tally of damaged property was more than 160 by the end of last week. Residents who have not yet called the county helpline to report damage are urged to call 435-472-HELP. The damage reports are needed to provide an accurate account to state and federal governments for disaster aid.
