Letter to the Editor: People don't know
To the Carbon County Commissioners.
This letter is not anonymous.
How many times have you got up at 2 a.m. to go look for lost people snowmobiling, or hunting in the middle of winter ?
How many times have you got out of bed or missed dinner with your family to go look for a missing plane, drowning victim, missing person, suicidal person or to cover other types of emergency situations. How many times have you had to notify a family of a tradedy of a loved one ?.
How many family dinners have you missed for those reasons ?
You go to a meeting wearing a tin foil hat and think it is funny, I for one don't feel it is funny, but who am I ?. I'm not a commissioner.
You talk about money being wasted. You had better take a look at every county department and not just focus on the Sheriff's department.
There was nothing done about the television department using the counties snowcat at the Boy Scout Camp at Scofield in the winter. There was nothing done or said about using the Search & Rescue snowcat for a memorial in Huntington Canyon that the Sheriff was not notified or knew nothing about.
I have alot more information since I have been a member of Search and Rescue for 46 years. As of now I have resigned as quarter master and have taken a senior retired membership. I can truthfully say I have donated my time and at my own expense to benifit the people of Carbon County.
I have mentioned this because I know personally what the Sheriff has done for this county.
I can guarantee you he is a resident of this county. It is true his wife lives in St. George and is employed there.
I don't know were you came up with 26 days, Does that count the weekends that they spent here ?
I don't think so.
