WELLINGTON-Surrounded in love by her family, our beautiful mother, wife, sister and dearest friend, Cindy Basso Rogers, was carried away from this world upon magnificent wings of angels, June 30, 2014. She was 60 years old.
Born Sept. 3, 1953 in Price to Frank and Joyce Day Basso. Married Jack Rogers August 6, 2005 in Flat Head Lake, Mont. She worked for the Carbon County School district for many years where she created some amazing friendships and touched the lives of countless children.
Loved and admired by all who knew her, Cindy was a friend to everyone. She always had a smile on her face and brightened all our lives with her perpetual optimism.
Cindy loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, river running, and witnessing the splendor of nature. She loved working in her garden, planting flowers and creating a beautiful space for her home. She loved doing yoga and always reminded us the importance of living simply and peacefully and to "Coexist."
Cindy is survived by her father, Frank Basso, her loving husband, Jack Rogers, sisters Shella Basso and Tammy Hufford, Arizona, and brother Shane Basso. Her three adoring children, Corina MacKnight, Deshell (Pascual) Taberna, Shanti (Misty) Jones and step-son Tyler Rogers will carry on her legacy of strength and kindness. She was the best Nana anyone could ever ask for to Gaiden Jones, Aniya Taberna and Tayler Rogers. Jarett and Nick Zamantakis will always cherish the memories they shared with their very own "Hippie Gramma." Countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will miss her loving presence in their lives.
Cindy has reunited with her mother, Joyce Basso, her grandparents and all her loved ones gone before her.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014, 6 p.m. at Mitchell Mortuary (233 East Main Street) in Price. Friends are welcome to share memories of Cindy at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
Walk in sunshine, Momma, and fly high with the angels as you watch over us. You will live on inside those whose lives you have touched for an eternity.
