After slow start, Helper heats up in 10-0 mercy rule win

After slow start, Helper heats up in 10-0 mercy rule win

Helper shook off a slow start before turning on the jets as they defeated Judge 10-0 in a mercy rule win.

Bryce Blackburn finished with three hits and three RBIs to lead the Helper offense. Cole Fossat, who pitched four scoreless innings with five strikeouts, added to the offense with two singles and a double and three RBIs.

After a scoreless first inning, Helper scored four in the bottom of the second thanks to a Ridge Nielson two-run single and an RBI single from Blackburn.

Helper added two runs in the fourth inning and the final four in the fifth inning with the game ending on an RBI single from Blackburn.

With the win, Helper is currently 2-0 in the Salt Lake Valley League. They will travel to Corner Canyon on Thursday evening before hosting the Helper Tournament from Friday throughSunday. The tournament will include seven teams with the championship game on Sunday.
