ORANGEVILLE - Wallace Romine Curtis age 85, passed away on June 9, 2014 in Ferron. Rohmer was born on March 4, 1929 in Orangeville to Erastus Ray and Vivian Moffitt Curtis. He married Jean Johansen on Jan. 9, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nev. their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 13, 1957.
Rohmer was a lifetime resident of Orangeville. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Rohmer worked in the coal mines and with his wife Jean they owned and operated Curtis Packing for over 40 years. He and Jean herded cattle on Horn Mountain for Horn Mountain Cattle Association.
Rohmer enjoyed raising race horses, he also showed his horses at trade shows. Rohmer enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid pheasant hunter and spent time at the family cabin with family and friends. After retirement he and Jean loved to travel and watch their horses race. He was a die hard Utah Jazz fan. Rohmer was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his children: Danny (Sandra) Curtis of Orangeville, Jeannie (Stuart) Jensen of Castle Dale, Donna (Greg) LeRoy of Huntington, Roma (Craig) Brotherson of Elmo, Kim (Robyn) Curtis of Orangeville, daughter-in-law, Marsha Curtis of Vernal, brother, Morris Curtis, sisters: Joan (Stanley) Snow, Shauna Curtis, sister-in-law, Nedra Curtis; 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by his wife Jean, son, Bennie Ray Curtis, brothers: Kirk Curtis, Bob Curtis and Junior Curtis.
Funeral services were be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville LDS 3rd Ward Chapel (8th North Building in Castle Dale).. A viewing was held on Thursday June 12, 2014 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, also on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
