Helper Baseball picks up right where they finished

Helper wasted no time in accomplishing two things to start the 2014 American Legion Baseball season.

First, they started the season with a win in their quest to defend their Utah state title.

And secondly, the win came against their rivals, the Price Legion Baseball.

Helper defeated Price 11-3 on Monday, June 9 at Carbon High School.

Behind a strong performance on the mound by pitchers Kyler Nelson and Jarod Lessar, the Helper offense struck early and often, scoring 10 of their 11 runs in the first four innings.

Helper took advantage of walks by Price pitchers and errors by the defense to get on the board quickly.

Helper had a game scheduled for Monday evening at 7 p.m. when they hosted Judge.

Results from that game will be printed as they become available.
