An Orangeville man was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) Tuesday night after losing control of his truck and colliding various pieces of two front yards in Price. His vehicle came to rest upside down, only feet from the front door of a Carbon Avenue home.

According to Price City Police Capt. Bill Barnes, Chandler Gary Peacock, 22, lost control of his northbound 2008 Ford F-350 pickup just after 11 p.m. As he drifted to the right, he collided with a cement curb and gutter overshot and was propelled through a chain link fence near 500 South Carbon Ave. He then made impact with a driveway retaining wall which launched his truck into the next home's vinyl fence. The truck then made impact with a tree and cement front porch, finally coming to rest on the truck's cab.

"Extensive damage was caused to the truck, Price City property and two Price City resident's properties," said Barnes.

Peacock allegedly told responding officer's that he had set his vehicle on cruise control at 45 mph, and them fell asleep on his way into Price. The speed limit is posted at 30 mph at the crash's location.

" Officers continued their investigation and determined that alcohol was allegedly involved, stated Barnes. Peacock allegedly blew a .104 when police tested him with a portable breath test device on scene.

"Speed was also likely a contributing factor," continued the Price Police Captain.

Peacock was subsequently transported to Castleview Hospital, where a blood sample was collected for analysis by the state crime lab. He was cited for DUI and Improper Lane Travel and released to a family member.
