Wildland fire fighters from Price, Helper, Wellington, the Utah Department of Natural Resources and US Forest Service battled a fire that apparently jumped a canal bank during a controlled burn Wednesday morning and spread through dry farm fields. The fire began before 11 a.m. in Miller Creek off Stake Farm Road south of Price. Fire fighters responded in force because the extensive fire was threatening nearby structures.
