Carbon High Tennis players Jaymin Cowley and Zane Whitmer represented the Dinos at the 3A State Tennis Tournament last week at the Liberty Park Tennis Courts in Salt Lake City.

The Carbon duo played together in the 2nd doubles tournament as the number three seed from Region 12.

They faced off with a team from Stansbury including Jordan Jenkins and Alex Kimberling, the number two seed from Region 11.

Jenkins and Kimberling defeated Cowley and Whitmer in two sets (6-3, 6-3) in the first round match.

Cowley and Whitmer, both juniors, were the only members of the Carbon High Tennis team to qualify for state.

With the season now complete, the Dinos will look to take the experience gained this season on the court and come back stronger next season. The team has one senior, Nick Trebbien, on the squad and should return everyone else on the roster for next year.
