PRICE- Louis Bunnell, loved and respected brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away April 30, 2014 of causes incident to age. He was 93.
Louis was born in Castle Dale on April 24, 1921 to Bert and Louise Cofford Bunnell. He grew up in Carbon County in a close knit family of five brothers. When they were young, the Bunnell brothers shared many adventures and were well known in the town of Helper as rambunctious and fun loving boys.
As adults, the brothers continued their adventures in the form of a successful family business, Bunnell Dodge and Bunnell Mobile Homes.
Louis attended Carbon High School and graduated from the College of Eastern Utah. He served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and as First Captain of the Civil Air Patrol in Price. He loved to fly and owned his own plane for many years. Louis was involved in installing the last nine holes at the Carbon County Country Club and he was active in numerous Carbon County clubs and organizations.
Louis married Mary Clark in 1941. Together they had two children, Mike and Cathy. Mary passed away in 1974 of cancer. Louis then married Norma (Jo) Huff Page, the two of them have been married almost forty years.
Louis will always be remembered for his remarkable and treasured sense of humor. He was witty and charming right up until the end of his life. Louis loved hunting, fishing, snow skiing, water skiing and golf. He was happiest at Scofield where he spent many years enjoying and entertaining his brothers, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Louis is survived by his wife, Jo Bunnell; two children, Mike (Toni) Bunnell and Cathy (Bob) Bailey, stepchildren, Joann Page (Stephen) King, Brian Page, Steven (Kathy) Page and brother Boyd Bunnell. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary; brothers Omar, Ross, Kay and granddaughter Cami Jo Oborn.
A graveside service in honor of Louis will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014, 11 am at the Price City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Louis online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
