It's becoming a regular occurrence. Another week, another win.

For the Carbon High girls golf team, it was a big team win signifying the hard work put in during the offseason.

The Lady Dinos brought home the Region 12 trophy on Thursday in authoritative style. A 77-point win in the region final held at Richfield's Cove View golf course capped off what was a very successful end to region play for the Lady Dinos.

A team total of 271 points in the 18 hole tournament found Katie Felice and Braxton Gibson tying for medalist honors with a score of 71 points. Hailey Kirkwood finished with 68 and Taylor Hammack had 61 points to round out the top four. Richfield was second with a team score of 194 and Juab third at 176.

In region standings, Carbon dominated. The Lady Dinos finished in first place with a 265-point lead and the girls also brought home six of the top eight medals in individuals.

Katie Felice was crowned the Region Medalist. Hailey Kirkwood placed second, Braxton Gibson third, Kaycee Gilson took fourth, Taylor Hammack fifth and Kaydee Gilson finished in eighth.

In team standings Carbon finished first at 906, Richfield in second at 641 and Juab in third at 580 points.

Carbon's accomplishments aren't just limited to the golf course. Kaydee Gilson and Taylor Hammack were both named Academic All-Region and Academic All-State. Both girls carry a 4.0 GPA.

"I am so very proud of my girls," said CHS Head Coach Kenji Otani. "The accomplishments of this team just keep stacking up; two girls on Academic All-State, the Region Trophy, the Region Medalist, 6 of the 8 top players and I don't think we are done yet. Impressive! I enjoy just watching them play. I can't wait for State."
