(UPDATED 8:00 p.m.) Downed power poles cause power outage in Carbon County
Strong winds have caused several power poles and equipment to be damaged in Price, Wellington and East Carbon, knocking out power for approximately 1600 customers in Carbon County.
According to Rocky Mountain Power Spokesperson Paul Murphy, "wind has caused emergency repairs in Price and Wellington."
The damage could have residents without power until 9:30 p.m. in Wellington, he continued.
Problems with additional equipment in Price has caused the need for extensive repairs and kept Murphy from providing an estimated time of restoration.
For some, however, the news is a bit brighter, as power has already been restored for some in the eastern part of the county. The pole and lines there, were damaged just north of the intersection of State Roads 123 and 124.
Several residents who reported losing power just after 6:30 p.m. in East Carbon, already had their lights back on at 7:30 p.m.
"Crews will continue to work diligently until all homes in the area have their power back on," concluded Murphy.
