UPALCO - Tim Knight, age 60, of Upalco, passed away April 9, 2014, at his son Dan's home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1953, in Roosevelt, to Arthur Joseph and Adaline Lenora Mecham Knight. He married Cynthia Dennis Jan. 22, 1972, their marriage was solemnized on Oct. 8, 1988 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; they divorced in 2006.
Tim served in the United States AirForce during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Thailand. He also worked for the National Guard 1457th as a full time employee and then was stationed with them in Germany during Desert Storm. He was a mechanic and had been with the State Road Department for over 10 years at their location in Price. He has been a life member of the VFW serving most recently as Quartermaster.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, pulling pranks, and helping anyone in need. He loved his family and his grandkids brought him much joy.
Tim is survived by his by his children, Danniel (Diana) Knight, Upalco; Stephanie (Troy) Scherzinger, West Valley City; Sabrina (Chris) Commichaux, Henderson, Nev; Catherine (Rick) Borg, Elko, Nev; Arthur Knight, Logan; 10 grandchildren, his former spouse, Cynthia Knight; brother, Neal (Barbara) Knight, Salt Lake City; sisters, Connie Hart, Naples; Kaylene (Howard) Grey, Pennsylvania; his little "buddy", Tater; and numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and -nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Justin Petersen, and a brother-in-law Alan Hart .
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Altamont LDS Stake Center. There will be a viewing on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary from 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Upalco Cemetery with military honors presented. Condolences may be shared at www.hullingermortuary.com
