Minor injuries for motorcyclist in Old Wellington Road mishap
Carbon County EMS and Sheriff's officials transported a single male to Castleview Hospital Tuesday after a motorcycle accident on Old Wellington Road near U.S. Highway 6.
According to Carbon County Chief Deputy Tom Stefanoff, Steven Meyer, 56, of Price, lost control of his 1980s Yamaha Maxim around 5:15 p.m. while traveling westbound toward Hwy. 6, dumping the street bike into some roadside weeds near 2499 East Old Wellington Road.
"He was going too fast to negotiate an upcoming turn," said Stefanoff. "But he was lucky enough to flip the bike into some soft grass and mud just off the road when he lost control."
Even though Meyer was reportedly going too fast to make the turn, the Chief Deputy stated that no citation was issued as Meyer's vehicle was the only property damaged during the incident.
The Price native was assessed at Castleview before being released Tuesday evening.
