Last month Price City honored Melanie Kirkham with the Visionary Service award given monthly to an outstanding community citizen.

Kirkham, a server, waitress at the Skylight Restaurant at the Holiday Inn in Price, first came to the area in 1997 as an exchange student. She returned in 2001 and attends CEU.

The award was presented to Kirkham at a regular council meeting by Mayor Joe Piccolo. She was nominated for the award for exemplary service. "I'm a good waitress, I talk to people and I remember them and what they ordered," said Kirkham, following the presentation.

The award is given monthly for assistance to make Price City a progressive, friendly community and given to a person who is dedicated to excellence in service as well as upholds high professional standards, being an honest, involved and responsible citizen.
