With almost 40 businesses signed up to sponsor Brag Badges for the Price Play Unplugged program this summer, a couple of new videos are on-line to help potential sponsors as well as parents understand the program and how it works.

On Tuesday the Play Unplugged group distributed the videos which now can be seen on the Sun Advocate Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SunAdvocate?ref=hl.

The Price Play Unplugged program began a few months ago when Price City bought into the program, which is meant to give kids real, life experience alternatives to playing video games or watching television. The program utilizes a series of suggested venues families and kids can go to have fun while collecting the Brag Badges from various businesses around town for their efforts. The Brag Badges are then used in a series of contests and drawings throughout the summer to award prizes to kids. At the end of the summer there will be a large party where grand prizes will be given away to the kids who collect the most badges.

The venues they can go to run the gamut from such things as going fishing to visiting museums to taking a hike.

The Sun Advocate is acting as an agent for Price City to promote the program and the paper will be sponsoring a number of events that go along with the program as well.

In May a promotional crew will go around to various schools in Carbon County and an assembly will be held for the students so they can understand the program and how it will benefit them.

Some of the businesses that have already signed up to sponsor Brag Badges includes Tony Basso GM, Castleview Hospital, Sutherlands, KOAL Radio (Paul and Ann Anderson), KUSA, Tony Basso ATV, Main Street Grill, Coldstone, Farm Bureau Insurance, Eastern Utah Credit Union, Mountain America Credit Union, the Price Police Department, BEH Communications, Office, Etc., Cut Above, Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, Supreme Muffler, Ultra Lube, Fitness World, Absolute Compassion, Bills Home Furnishings, Bicycle Werks, The Tuscan Events Center, A Pawn and Loan Shop, East Carbon City, the Sun Advocate and Price City.

Price Unplugged also has a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Priceunplugged. This page can be accessed for updated information and as the program moves along more information.

Businesses or individuals who wish to sponsor Brag Tags or to donate prizes for the summer drawings should contact Jenni Fasselin at 435 637-0732.
