Two people are dead following a two vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road 89 and U.S. Highway 6.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce, an east bound passenger car attempted to turn left on U.S 6 at 1:07 p.m. on Thursday and was "T-boned," by a northbound motorist.

Several other passengers received minor injuries during the crash but Royce did not know whether or not they had been transported for medical treatment.

The names of the victims as well as vehicle descriptions are being withheld by the UHP until the victim's families can be notified of the collision.

As of 4:15 p.m. Thursday, traffic was being restricted to one lane causing minor delays in the canyon.

Visit our site later this evening for further information from the Utah Highway Patrol as it is made available.
