NOTICE OF ELECTION
2014 REGULAR GENERAL ELECTION

	I, Seth Oveson, County Clerk-Auditor of Carbon County, State of Utah,
in  accordance  with  Utah Code  Section 20A-5-101 do  hereby  give 
notice of
offices for which candidates are to be elected and ballot propositions
qualified
for the ballot as of this date at the upcoming General Election to be
held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

FEDERAL
	U.S. House of Representatives.  One Representative for a two (2) year
term in the Third Congressional District consisting of Carbon, Emery,
Grand, part of Salt Lake, San Juan, part of Utah, and Wasatch
Counties.

STATE
	State Executive. The following position will be elected for a two (2)
year term.

Attorney General

	State House of Representatives.  One (1) member of the Utah House of
Representatives for a two (2) year term from the following District: 
District No. 69 State Legislative District.

BOARD OF EDUCATION
State Board of Education.  One member for a four (4) year term from
each of the following State School Districts: District No. 14.
District Fourteen (14) is located in Beaver, Carbon, Emery, Garfield,
Grand, Kane, Millard, Piute, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier, Utah and Wayne
Counties.

	Local Board of Education. One (1) member for a four (4) year term
from the following local school districts: District No. 4 and District
No. 5; District 4 to include Castle Heights, Castle Heights North,
North Price and Northeast Price. District 5 to include Wellington
North, Wellington South, East County, East Carbon North, East Carbon
South and Sunnyside.

JUDICIAL
	Supreme Court. There will be an unopposed retention election for
three (3) Supreme Court Judges, provided that the incumbent(s) whose
term is expiring files during the filing period.
	Court of Appeals.  There will be an unopposed retention election for
six (6) Court of Appeals Judges, provided that the incumbent(s) whose
term is expiring files during the filing period.
	District Court.  There will be a retention election for one (1)
District Court Judges in the following districts in the Seventh
Judicial District which consists of Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan
Counties, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files
during the filing period.
	Juvenile Court.  There will be a retention election for two (2)
Juvenile Court Judges in the following districts: Seventh District.
Two (2) Judges in the Seventh Judicial District, which consists of
Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan Counties provided that the
incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period.
	Justice Court.  Any Justice Court judge whose term is expiring shall
be subject to an unopposed retention election in the county or
counties in which the court to which the judge is appointed is
located.

COUNTY
	One (1) County Commissioner for a term of four (4) years.
	One (1) County Commissioner/Surveyor for a term of four (4) years.
	One (1) County Attorney for a term of four (4) years.
	One (1) County Clerk/Auditor for a term of four (4) years.
	One (1) County Treasurer for a term of six (6) years.
	One (1) County Assessor for a term of six (6) years.
	One (1) County Recorder for a term of six (6) years.
	One (1) County Sheriff/Constable for a term of four (4) years.
 
BALLOT PROPOSITION
	As of the date of this notice, no ballot proposition has qualified
for the 2014 general election ballot.

MASTER BALLOT POSITION LIST, RANDOM SELECTION, PROCEDURES
	In accordance with Utah Code Section 20A-6-305, Utah Lieutenant
Governor Spencer J. Cox hereby establishes the Master Ballot Position
List, establishes written procedures for election officials to use the
Master Ballot Position List, establishes written procedures for the
Lieutenant Governor in conducting the randomization in a fair manner,
and provides a record of the random selection process used.

	Written procedures for election officials to use the master ballot
position list.
	In accordance with Utah Code Section 20A-6-305, election officers
shall use the master ballot position list for the current year and the
next year (2014-2015) to determine the order in which to list
candidates on the ballot for any election held during those years. 

	To determine the order in which to list candidates on the ballot, the
election officer shall apply the randomized alphabet using: the
candidate's surname; for candidates with a surname that has the same
spelling, the candidate's given name; if the ballot provides for a
ticket or a straight party ticket, the name of the registered
political party. This does not apply to an election for an office for
which only one candidate is listed on the ballot or a judicial
retention election under Section 20A-12-201.

	Written procedures for the Lieutenant Governor in conducting the
randomization in a fair manner and record of the random selection
process used.
	In accordance with Utah Code Section 20A-6-305, the Lieutenant
Governor's Office conducted the randomization process by using a
random alphabet generator utility in the statewide voter database
application VISTA (voter information & state tracking application).
The randomization was done on Friday, January 24, 2014 in the presence
of witnesses representing the political parties in Utah.

	a. U.S. House of Representatives	$485.00

	b. Attorney General            	$308.90

	c. Utah Senator	$79.80

	d. Utah House of Representatives	$64.90

	e. State Board of Education	$65.00

	f. Court of Record Judge or Justice	$50.00

	g. County Offices	$50 + 0.00125 
		x term x annual salary

	h. Justice Court Judge	$25.00

	i. Local Board of Education	$50.00

	The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for these offices shall
begin on Friday, March 14, 2014, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday,
March 20, 2014 at the office of the Carbon County Clerk, Courthouse
Building, 120 E. Main, Price, Utah. National and State offices are
required to file at the office of the Lieutenant Governor, State
Capital Building, Salt Lake City, Utah, on the same dates or in the
County Clerk's office in their county of residence.
