Letter to the Editor: Thanks to all
On Monday, Jan. 13, shortly after we clsoed our store, Grako Tire Pros at 280 East Main in Price, a fire erupted on a car that was parked inside our building.
Thanks to Dale Curtis who was passing by and saw the fire, for calling 911. Dispatch acted quickly and notified the Price Fire Department that responded quickly.
I was driving west down Main Street and I could see smoke coming out of the building everywhere. I couldn't believe how quickly the smoke traveled trhoug the building. When I parked my car I was met by Price Fire Chief Paul Bedont. He assured me they had things under control.
I was so impressed by the way Paul and his team of fire fighters took control of the situation. These guys know their stuff. Even Wellington fire fighers were on the scene helping out. Law enforcement was there with a quick response too.
I have never really been around this type of circumstance where a fire is taking place. Believe me it is horrifying. They took every precaution and did very little damage to the building, breaking a few windows out so smoke could escape.
They also made sure the suspended ceiling above the car that was on fire was out including the insulation.
I personally want to thank these guys from the bottom of my heart and for the risks they take every day to keep our city safe.
Because of their quick work our store is back in operation as we renovate our building sections at a time. It won't be long and it will be totally completed.
I thank everyone for their support and business through the years.
