Tough competition in College of Southern Idaho and North Idaho College heading to Price this week

After finishing off a month long road trip throughout the month of January with two conference wins, the USU Eastern Womens basketball looked to continue their momentum with five straight home games.

But competition in the Scenic West Athletic Conference put a halt to that momentum.

The Lady Eagles dropped both home games on their first of three home stands, falling to Salt Lake Community College 71-56 on Thursday night and to Snow College 89-59 on Saturday afternoon at the BDAC.

In both games the Lady Eagles faced double digit deficits in the first half. Against SLCC, the Lady Eagles cut the deficit to 58-54 with over three minutes left but the Lady Bruins closed out the game on a 13-2 run.

With the two losses, USU Eastern (11-13 overall and 5-5 in SWAC play) will play host to College of Southern Idaho on Thursday evening and North Idaho College on Saturday afternoon in two games that could help determine the seeding for the upcoming SWAC Tournament.
