HELPER - Marsha Ann Lee of Helper passed away Jan. 31, 2014, suddenly and painlessly with her husband, Richard, by her side. This was a graceful end to a long and heroic quest to not give up on a life she so dearly loved. She and her family have been blessed by the care and support of many friends. Their visits, card and acts of kindness have both enriched and eased the lives of the entire Lee family.

Marsha was born in Dallas, Texas in 1937. She lived in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado before moving to Utah almost 50 years ago. She treasured significant aspects of each of these homes and incorporated them into her life through art and food. She moved to Helper with her husband and young family to open the H-E Lowdermilk Co. office, which managed its Utah heavy highway construction operations.

Being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter was very important to Marsha. She never missed a ball game with her kids, cooking a special meal each evening, or saying the right thing to make each of us know we are special and loved. She inspired her children to seek their own path with vigor and humility. She also became a surrogate mother and life-long friend to many individuals in need who treasured her sympathetic ear and supportive advice.

Marsha was always curious and loved to try new things. She filled her life with books, art, and food. She was a prolific needlepointer, needlepoint canvas designer, knitter, and painter. Many of her needlepoint works were published. These passions led to deep friendships with so many remarkable people and kindred spirits. Her kind, candid humor lit up a room and made people want to stay. Her zest for life will live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years whose steadfast care and devotion was unending and remarkable to all the family. She leaves sons Jon (Dori) Lee and Todd Lee (Brodie Bain), and her daughter Sarah (Charles) Bentz. She also leaves her brothers Michael and Dee Northington, and four grandchildren, Channing Lee, Drewe Lee, Charlie Bentz and Breck Bentz.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the United Methodist Church, (10 North 200 East) in Price. Family will be at the church Thursday one hour prior to services. The family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in lieu of flowers or gifts. We will miss her deeply. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Marsha at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
