PRICE - Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Edith Verde Pitts, age 97, passed away peacefully in California, at the home of her daughter, Suzanne on January 20, 2014, on her husband's 94th birthday.
She was born September 4, 1916 in Sunnyside, Utah, to Anthony and Maria DeAngeles Verde.
Married Charles Lowell Pitts, October 31, 1939, in Price, Utah. They shared 74 wonderful years together until his passing on December 18, 2013.
Edith was a devout member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price where she was a member of the Sewing Guild for many years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the numerous family members and friends who helped Lowell and Edith in their final years.
Survived by her daughters, Suzanne Takowsky and Cynthia Wagner; sister, Rose Ella Felice; her grandchildren, Mandara, Nataliya, Stephen and Niko Takowsky, Maggie, Peter, Brad and Anna Wagner; great-granddaughters, Edith and Gloria Takowsky; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Lowell Pitts; 4 brothers, John, Tony, James "Ace" and Willie Verde; 4 sisters, Cynthia Patch, Catherine Verde, Helen Giordano and Ruth Telarole.
Graveside service, Monday, January 27, 2014, 2:00 p.m., Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Monday from 1:00-1:40 p.m. prior to services.
