HELPER/BOUNTIFUL - Our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Sherrie Ann Uzelac, age 69, passed away suddenly January 14, 2014.
She was born April 9, 1944 in Standardville, Utah to Cecil Sox and Teresa Vea Uzelac.
Sherrie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, traveling and going to the opera and plays. She liked spending time with friends and family going to dinner. Sherrie loved to scrap book and collecting coins and stamps. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1962.
She began her career as a Radiology Technologist specializing in mammography at the University Medical Center in 1964. She was a member of the Utah Society of Radiologic Technologists and received the Ketner Society Award in 1979. Sherrie was a lifelong member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. She worked for several different hospitals until her retirement in August of 2009.
After her retirement she volunteered in the Davis County School District reading to children. She was an active member of St. Olaf Catholic Church and St. Anthony Catholic Church where she was the church organist for many years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the American Breast Cancer Foundation in Sherrie's name (60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, New York 10022).
Survived by her brother, C. Leon (Linda) Uzelac, Price; niece, Heather (Cody) White, Helper; great niece and nephew, Derrick and Shelby White, Helper; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friend, Cynthia Noffsinger, Bountiful.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Vigil Service, Sunday, January 19, 2014, 7:00 p.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helper.
Funeral Mass, Monday, January 20, 2014, 10:00 a.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church. Family will receive friends at the church Sunday and Monday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
