Scoggins' all-around effort helps lead Carbon High girls to 46-33 win over Uintah

With just two more games left in the non-region schedule, the Carbon High Lady Dinos are starting to find their stride.

After spending much of December playing on the road, the Lady Dinos picked up a 46-33 win over Uintah on Saturday, Jan. 4. The win was their third straight.

Sophomore Jordan Scoggins played a big role in the win as she finished with nine points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals. Teammate Shelby Cornforth led the team with 11 points.

Katie Basinger and Lindsey Blanc each had seven points while Beth Child pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

Carbon is gathering momentum heading into two key games before starting Region 12 play on Jan. 14.

The Lady Dinos will host Grantsville Tuesday, Jan. 7 before hosting Juan Diego on Friday, Jan. 10 in a matchup with one of the top 3A teams in the state.
