Agencies gearing up for fire season

A Scofield fire truck sits idle after emergency crews were dispatched to a small brush blaze Monday afternoon. As the weather warms, the grass begins to grow. Although the scenery is turning green, Carbon County residents are cautioned that dry conditions may still be present. State and federal agencies expect mounting dangers to accompany an early fire season. Campfires and any other open flames should be used with caution, monitored and never left unattended.
