Santa Claus, aka Carbon School Superintendent Steve Carlsen, waves to a sea of students Wednesday afternoon on the lawn of the school district office. Santa and Nadine Wimmer of KSL arrived aboard Chopper 5 to congratulate the students for participating in the Twelve Days of Reading program. Read Today is sponsored by KSL and Americorp. KSL is also donating 1,000 books to each elementary school in the district. Every child will receive a book for Christmas. The remainder will be used for Americorp tutoring and other intervention and enrichment activities.
