By Darlene Fossat Lowe
Salt Lake City

On Monday, Dec. 16th it will be 50th anniversary of the Carbon Fuel mine explosion. Nine men lost their lives and as families we have all lived a life-time in that 50 years.

I was the oldest surviving child, and my dad was the oldest casualty. I can only imagine the legacy that is now present after 50 years. We all remember that Xmas 50 years ago, and hope never to experience another like it.

Our loved ones are gone, but the memories will never die. How lucky we were to have these men in our lives. Not a day goes by that we don't remember them. My Dad was Vic Fossat. Love you always, Daddy!
