Tintic hands Pinnacle 54-40 loss to open season
A slow start on offense and missed opportunities on the road was too much for the Pinnacle High girl's basketball team to overcome as Tintic sent the Lady Panthers back home with a 54-40 on Nov. 6 to open the 2013-14 season.
Tintic outscored Pinnacle 32-15 in the first half and did enough in the second half to maintain the lead for the win.
The Lady Panthers were unable to take advantage of their opportunities at the free throw line, as they finished the game shooting 7-of-25 (28 percent) in the game.
Raycee Birch led Pinnacle with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss. Tiana Burton added eight points and Maggie Syrett had seven points.
Pinnacle will travel for games at Grand (Dec. 3) and Rockwell (Dec. 5) before hosting Wasatch Academy on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. in their home opener.
