CLEAR CREEK - Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Myrna Faye Wallace Emmett, age 75, passed away peacefully Nov. 22, 2013 in the home she loved so dearly.
Myrna was the loving daughter of William "Bill" and Florence Jones Wallace. She was born in Clear Creek on Nov. 27, 1937 where she eventually met and married James Bernard Emmett. On March 2, 1957, they married in Price and were blessed with two sons, Ron and Craig. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Myrna was instrumental with anything that had to do with Clear Creek. She was the last living resident in the town and was commonly referred to as the "Queen of Clear Creek". She was active in the Home Owners Association and no matter what was going on in town, it had to be cleared with her.
Myrna was known for her wonderful sense of humor and loving ways. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and forming bonds with each. Whether she was gardening, making suckers or going to the picnic grounds in the old green truck with them. Myrna always made sure that there was plenty of fun while developing the bonds with her grandkids.
Myrna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her tiny branch in Scofield where she held many callings over the years. She loved the members and made sure that they knew they where loved and cherished. When Myrna was in the room, everyone could feel the love. She was a mother to all and her memory will be held in hearts forever.
Survived by her sons, Ron (Cheri) Emmett, Magna, Craig (Debora) Emmett, West Jordan; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Wallace, Price; grandchildren, Randall, Casey, Ronnie, Sheryl, Travis and Amy; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Caleb, Morgan and Paisley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Jimmy; and sisters, Mildred and Lois Pollard.
Funeral service, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, 11 a.m., Scofield LDS Ward. Family will receive friends at the church Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of Myrna at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.

Do you think the Utah Legislature should increase appropriations for public education in Utah beyond the current legislative trend in the past few years of funding only for growth in student population?
